Studio 900’s Story

Continuing a Legacy Built on Trust and Care.
”Studio 900 is more than a studio. It is part of my life, part of my journey, and part of the stories of the families who have trusted us over the years. I am incredibly proud to continue what John started, and to preserve the moments that will be cherished for generations to come.” - James

About Studio 900 | Wirral & North West Wedding Photographer

Studio 900 is a name that has been trusted across the Wirral for nearly three decades — and today, it’s my story as much as it is its history.

My love for photography started long before I ever picked up a camera professionally. On 07/07/2007, at my dad’s wedding, I spent the entire day running around with his DSLR in my hands — probably irritating the professional photographer more than I was helping. But even then, there was something about capturing moments that just clicked with me.

Years later, I stepped into the world of weddings professionally through Studio 900 — and what started as an opportunity quickly became something far more meaningful.

I’ve now been involved in weddings for nearly half my life, and for the entirety of my working life.

Under John’s guidance, I didn’t just learn how to use a camera — I learned how to see moments, anticipate emotion, and understand the responsibility that comes with documenting one of the most important days in someone’s life.

Over time, that relationship became more than mentorship. We became like family, sharing the same values, the same pride in our work, and the same deep respect for what Studio 900 represents.

Today, I’m proud to be the one carrying that legacy forward.

But for me, wedding photography has never been just about tradition — it’s about people.

I’ve always been a people person, and weddings are where that comes to life. I don’t just stand in the corner with a camera — I get involved where it matters, help keep things flowing, and make sure you feel completely at ease. At the same time, I know when to step back and let moments happen naturally. Most couples tell me it feels like having another friend there rather than a supplier — and that’s exactly how I want it to feel.

There have even been moments where that’s meant going beyond photography — including rescuing a bride’s veil from a canal mid-wedding, (and yes yes i have a photo of my getting it out) It’s all part of making sure your day runs as smoothly as possible.

Because the moments that matter most aren’t staged.

They’re the quiet seconds before the ceremony. The nervous excitement. The laughter with friends. The way your family looks at you when you don’t even realise it. These are the moments that can’t be recreated — and they deserve to be captured honestly, naturally, and with care.

My style is natural, relaxed, and focused on real moments rather than forced poses. I’ll guide you when needed, but I’ll never make you feel uncomfortable or overly staged. The aim is always to create photographs that feel like you — timeless, honest, and full of emotion.

Nothing forced, nothing overcomplicated — just honest moments, captured properly.

Having been around weddings for so many years, very little phases me. Whether timelines shift, the weather changes, or things don’t quite go to plan, I remain calm, prepared, and focused on making sure your day is captured beautifully no matter what.

Studio 900 combines nearly 30 years of heritage with a modern, thoughtful approach. The values it was built on — trust, care, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to every couple — still guide everything I do, while my approach continues to evolve to reflect how weddings are captured today.

Couples typically choose me because they want someone they can trust completely — not just to take beautiful photos, but to be a calm, friendly presence throughout the day and capture everything as it naturally unfolds.

This is more than just photography to me.

Studio 900 has been a huge part of my life, my growth, and my journey. Being trusted to document such important moments for other people is something I never take lightly.

If you’re looking for a Wirral wedding photographer who will genuinely care about your day, help you feel comfortable, and capture it in a way that feels true to you, I’d love to hear more about your plans.

I’m also a big believer that the best results come from really getting to know you as people, not just as a booking. If you’d like, we can meet for a coffee, have a relaxed chat, and figure out what actually suits you — with no pressure and no hard sell, just an honest conversation about your day.
